Lulu Wang is a London-based Chinese interdisciplinary artist. She explores the body as an emotional vessel and a shifting space through her visual practice and performance. At the core of her practice is her mixed-media “trace” works. Created through a meditative mark-making process using body movements, the “trace” works develop as blueprints for choreography and expanded storytelling. Incorporating Chinese mythology and contemporary sci-fi aesthetics, her work explores symbiotic relationships between emotional worlds and their physical embodiment - seeking the power of self-actualisation and love. Wang’s work has been exhibited and performed including Gazelli Art House, 180 Strand Reference Point, UK Mexican Arts Society, Cromwell Place in London, UK Pavillion Expo 2020 in Dubai, and DOOR Foundation in Amsterdam. Wang is also the co-founder of ‘Diasporas Now’ - an expanded performance-art platform celebrating cross-diasporic solidarity, helping diasporic performance artists of colour gain exposure.加载中...
