Cristina Lama is Spanish contemporary artist born in 1977, currently living and working in Seville, Spain. To her, there is pure pleasure in the act of painting. She uses broad, expressive brush strokes to explore topics such as family, childhood, freedom, though often times, the subject and imagery are merely tools and an excuse to make paintings. Her dynamic yet considered visual language moves towards abstraction, giving the gesture of painting a greater meaning. Each painting exudes the artist’s sensitivity and emotions; each piece depicts scenes using elements with a careful balance between serenity and complex psychology. Her works are in the collection of CAC - Center for Contemporary Art of Malaga and the CAAC - Andalusian Center for Contemporary Art of Seville.
